Injection molding simulation has historically required an expert to know which algorithm to run before running it — a knowledge bottleneck that slows new part development and concentrates risk in a few experienced engineers. Agentic AI could be a solution to that front-end problem, as Empower Corp. is proving out in collaboration with simulation provider Moldex3D. The system they've developed identifies part geometry, proposes gate locations, suggests processing parameters and conducts warpage and shrinkage analysis based on the selected material — all before the engineer manually sets up a single simulation. The AI draws on past experience to give a baseline design and a risk matrix of issues to watch.
